My career in construction and the building trades spans nearly three decades, encompassing a wide range of projects and disciplines. Early experience in a large hardwood mill shop laid the groundwork for a deep familiarity with materials and craftsmanship, followed by work with the construction arm of a real estate investment company that included framing new residential homes.

     From there, the scope of work expanded steadily — from commercial construction to independent building, remodeling and renovation, and the management of larger commercial projects. Time spent in urban construction, particularly working within prewar apartment buildings, added a further dimension of technical knowledge and adaptability.

     The bulk of my work has been residential, with a strong focus on remodeling and renovation. Projects have ranged from individual room renovations to whole-home transformations, with an emphasis on quality craftsmanship and careful attention to detail. Working independently has made up a significant portion of my career, reflecting both an entrepreneurial approach and a commitment to close, direct relationships with clients.

     A Bachelor's Degree in Studio Art from Colorado College has been an unexpected but invaluable part of this journey. The training in design, composition, and spatial thinking that came with that education has shaped the way projects are approached — not just as construction problems to be solved, but as opportunities to create spaces that are thoughtful, functional, and visually considered. That creative foundation continues to inform my work to this day.
